About the UEC

The Undergraduate Economics Club is the University of Toronto Mississauga's primary student-run economics organization. UEC is recognized at UTM as both an academic society and a student-run organization. As a result, UEC works to serve as a bridge between the economics faculty, administration and economics students at UTM.

UEC's primary mission is to ensure that UTM students have an opportunity to involve themselves in the vibrant field of economics -- outside of the classroom. In the past, UEC has accomplished this mission by hosting a variety of events including investment banking sessions, guest lecture seminars and postgraduate economics information sessions.

Moreover, UEC strives to facilitate a strong student-professor relationship, which provides UTM students with the opportunity to truly interact with their professors outside of the classroom context. This has been done through such avenues as social gatherings, economics discussions and other student-professor social events throughout the past years.

UEC is one of UTM's fastest growing clubs; its committed executive council along with its support from the Economics Department at UTM has enabled its expanding at a very rapid rate.
