- Ensure that Economics students get together through our social events
- Create the best experience for 1st year economics students
- Build and sustain all relationships with stakeholders participating in UEC events
- Arrange regular meetings with directors under his or her supervision

Corporate Relations Director
The Corporate Relations Director has the important responsibility of developing and establishing relationships with sponsors and partners of the Undergraduate Economics Council. We are looking for individuals who are excellent at communication and have the ability to represent UEC when working with professionals. The successful applicant will gain invaluable experience in the field of corporate relations and a tremendous opportunity to establish a valuable network in the business community.
Sample Responsibilities- Initiate and maintain communication with companies and organizations
- Solicit sponsorship and negotiate sponsorship contracts
- Attract organizations to send representatives for UEC events and recruiting events

Recruiting Directors (x2)
This position is to ensure that students on campus have opportunities to network with outside relevant organizations, whether they are associations or non-for-profit, as well as job opportunities with companies, government bodies and financial institutions. Events may include guest lecturers.

- Planning and mapping out of networking and recruiting events
- Ensure that external representatives are well-welcomed.
- Cold-calling recruiters and organizations to come to UTM

Social Responsibility Director
The Undergraduate Economics Council would like to show students that our council is socially responsible, whether to the community, to the environment, or to its students.
Sample Responsibilities- Organizing events throughout the year to promote community involvement, environmental sustainability and ethical behavior in university
- Find creative ways to inspire students to give back to the community
- Write articles on the UEC website about how economics relates to social responsibility
- Challenge students to "go green"
- Serve as a mediator when conflicts arise
- Be constantly aware of issues and top stories In the news, including disasters and events
- Strong Ethics and Social Responsibility awareness

Professional Development Director
Employers nowadays are always looking for more than an economics degree in a student's resume. This position will ensure that students are aware of their career paths and gain valuable experience that will make their resumes stand out.
Sample Responsibilities- Hold info sessions and seminars about career options in Economics
- Hold Excel and GMAT training sessions
- Maintain communications with professionals, such as the Career Centre, FLC, etc
- Strong written and communication skills
- Organized and efficient with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and respond to urgent changes
- Previous event organizing experience is an asset
Promotions Director (new)
The Promotions Director will be responsible for the branding, marketing image and promoting of UEC and its events. The main focus for this role is to promote events through various media on campus, including speeches. Overall, this position serves as a way for students to connect with UEC.
Sample Responsibilities- Creating and implementing a marketing plan and strategy for UEC
- Liaise with all directors to discuss marketing strategies
- Work with the President and VPs in developing overall vision and goals
- Make short class speeches in economics classes
- Use resources such as Facebook and other relevant tools (on and off-campus) to promote events
- Increase the exposure of our events to economics students
- Creating material for events including table settings, running PowerPoint, etc
- Responsible for putting posters on campus, and working with the Creative Director
- Excellent Presentation Skills (speech experience for large crowds an asset)

Social Director
The Social Director will be responsible to ensure that economics students get together. The main focus for this role is organizing social events throughout the year.
Sample Responsibilities- Organize a large Paintball event/championship, and other social events
- Coordinate with other student clubs who we may partner with
- Ensure that all logistics are taken care of

IT Director
The IT Director will be responsible for the operations of UEC website, along with any maintenance and features required for the website.
Sample Responsibilities- Ensure that the UEC website is easy and attractive to everyone
- Work with other directors, especially the marketing director, to post information
- Maintain server and email service for directors, as well as support
- Report on the levels of visits on the website
- Inserting applications that will help the organization and logistics of UEC and its events
- Knowledge in website design and maintenance is a must
- Design and creativity
- Communications skills, and open to suggestions
- Previous website experience is an asset
Finance Director
The Undergraduate Economics Council will be dealing with expenses and sponsorships. As such, the Finance Director will play the critical role of maintaining all costs of the organization.
Sample Responsibilities- Maintain and record all expenses of organization
- Re?evaluating budget and allocating funds for all events, seminars and other needs
- Ensure that funds are being spent efficiently
- Issue invoices for expenses and plan ahead for expenses
- Maintain bank account information, and other financial needs (PayPal, credit card)
- Extremely organized
